Bruneau jasper small, from Idaho, is sold in small sizes, mainly for tumbling but with a little effort, most can be slabbed for cabs. (Stock 510) This rare orbicular material is in shades of brownish red and tans. Bruneau jasper is no longer being mined due to being in a preserve. It is found in only found one place in the world. When making cabs from slabs, the left over small rough will be great for tumbling. Please be sure and use ceramic media for cushioning the stones to help protect the Bruneau from chipping or spaulding. Bruneau tends to be brittle material, but will take a great polish if a cushioning media is used. See Assorted Lapidary Tips for a tip on slabbing small stones easily.
