Rhodochrosite, Argentina

Description

The beatiful slab of banded rhodochrosite is from Argentina, and was received in an old collection from back in the 50”s.  The rose-red color of the rhodochrosite with fine bands will make many beautiful cabochons and is usually combined with findings of gold or silver with the cab. Flat lapping the slab would also be an excellent choice seeing how rare large slabs of rhodochrosite are. The size of the slab has approximate maximum measurements of 10″ x 5 1/2″ x 5/16″ thick.
