The Rociprolap lapping machine is under new ownership by Covington Engineering Corp. The 24″ Rociprolap model, 110V, 60Hz, (Stock No. 5240RL) is a precision built machine designed to eliminate the manual work of lapping and polishing. The Rociprolap machine operates as it”s name implies. The lap plate revolves slowly (about 4 rpm) and reciprocates 575 times per minute simultaneously. It is balanced and does not need to be bolted down. It runs quiet in operation. Built to industrial standards, all cast iron and steel construction. (Please note: the splash guard has been changed from stainless steel to plastic/Formica. We have found the Formica works better for several reasons; 1. It is easier to clean; 2. Has allowed us to keep the price stable. 3. It can be rolled up and shipped in a small carboard box saving the customer much in shipping.) The Rociprolap machine should last many years. The lap plate is machined flat to a very close tolerance which will give a mirror polish when lapped properly. An aerospace company did a study on the Rociprolap and literature from the company reported the Rociprolap is capable of lapping within three light bands of helium light or millionths of an inch of flatness. The lap plate/pan has 3/16″ X 1/2″ cavities and a weight of 70 lbs. The Rociprolap will lap wood, metal, glass, compressor valves or any material which must be ground flat. It is especially suited to lap compressor valves. Sold complete with splash guard, bumper ring, 1/2 horse power motor, complete set of instructions, polish pad now included, plus one set of nylon ball bearings (12ea.) and one set of steel discs (6).  The Rociprolap machine is guaranteed for one year from date of purchase against any defects in material, excluding the nylon thrust bearings, steel discs, and leveling feet.  NOTE: Approx. shipping weight of the complete unit is 325 pounds with a box dimension of 32″ x 32″ x 23″.  NOTE: there is no longer a crating fee.  For European electrical systems, a 220V50/60Hz is available, stock #52402R.  Please inquire on pricing or to receive a freight quote.
