The MT-4 Mini-Sonic Vibratory Tumbler, by Diamond Pacific Tool Corp. with 115V operates without shafts, belts, pulleys, eccentric weight or even a motor – so the MT-4 will far outlast other types of tumblers. The tumbler operates on a unique principle employing interrupted electrical current that provides vibration as the driving force powering the rotation of the load. Operating frequency is in excess of 3,500 vibrations per minute. You can tumble polish almost any kind of stone, from opal to topaz, delicate carvings and preforms, as well as metal items such as coins, jewelry findings, shell casings, etc. The unique tumbling operation is the key to the high performance of the MT-4MSV. The vibratory motion is achieved without any moving parts. It improves the polishing process and uses only a small amount of abrasives to create a thin coating on the material, much less abrasives as compared to ordinary tumblers. If you use the Vibra-Dry compounds instead, no water is required. Load capacity is approximately four pounds including stone, fillers, and abrasives. (Ceramic media is recommended for a filler but others to try are plastic pellets, corn cob, walnut shell, etc.) Control of the rotation and intensity of the tumbler operation is accomplished with solid state electronic controls. The mini-sonic vibratory tumbler is also available in 220V . The cast ABS plastic hoppers give exceptionally long wear. With no motor, belts or pulleys to worry about, you have a tumbler built for years of worry free service. JUST A NOTE: A local  novice  tumbler in our community signed up to purchase one of these units and the tumbled stones  he brought to show me had a fantastic polish even though they did not tumble polish in a rotary tumbler for a more rounded stone, the stones were quite unique and had an outstanding beautiful polish.
